How To Enable Wireless And Wired (USB) Tethering On Google Nexus One?

Google Nexus One is the current craze among all Mobile enthusiasts. Even before it’s official release, Nexus One which runs on Android 2.1 was rooted and also it’s Bootloader got unlocked. Now a forum member of XDA has been able to hack Nexus One Android 2.1 for enabling wireless as well as wired tethering.

Released in the form of an add-on (Nexus One Add-on 1.0) , this hack has to be flashed over your existing Nexus One firmware. According to the hacker, this is not a full custom ROM, it is just an add-on pack including a custom kernel with ip tables, tun, USB RNDIS, wlan driver etc, Busybox, Nano, htop, powertop, dropbear, superuser permissions app and a matching su.

In order to install this hack, you may need to first unlock your Nexus One’s bootloader, then root it to get full access. The zip download and the rest of the instructions to flash it can be found here. After flashing install wired tether, VPNC client, Adfree, N1 Torch, set CPU to 1GHz.
