Root Nexus One On Android 2.2 Froyo OTA
Android 2.2 Froyo, the latest version of Google’s mobile OS has already become available as an OTA download. So if you have updated your device with Android 2.2 Froyo and looking for a way to root Nexus One, then here is some good news. The folks over at XDA Forum have come up with a quick rooter for stock FroYo Nexus One devices.
The quick rooter is not a full-fledged ROM, but something that needs to be flashed over an existing stock installation. Both the stock and the tweaked kernels are available for download.
Flash your Nexus One in recovery mode. The tweaked kernel adds Busybox and Superuser, thus giving you full root access. It is built on 2.6.34 kernel and includes a patch to improve DM-crypt performance for A2SD.
In case you have already updated your Nexus One to Android 2.2 OTA, then you need to reflash your recovery with Clockwork or Amon first.
